3 years ago around August, I was in Nabua Camarines Sur with my brothers in bond Jemar Marfa and Ieusef Santillan and we were trying to establish our own animation studio- The Atom Animation Studios and a Food Business which..both sadly failed. We have been into editing videos using Sony Vegas or Windows Movie maker when Sef suggested that I should try using Adobe After Effects because it was cool and offers more video control than the latter tools. So I decided: why not? Although I was quite nervous yet exited because I am going to try a new editing tools.
Now the problem is what video are we gonna shoot? We brainstormed from "star-wars" action scheme and kamehamehas, etc. and lastly we decided: A gun battle. But, we dont have enough gun props and so we decided to make it more unique. WE-GONNA-USE-PHONES!
Shooting the film was fun; considering we were in a middle of the street, we had to watch out for coming vehicles and the people passing by. It took like 2 hours just perfect time before lunch. Editing the Video was quite stressful yet fun. Jembook started the editing, and Sef did his personal tough as well and I took the responsibility in finishing the video considering I was getting used to Sony Vegas and WMM, the basic was very familiar to me already i.e. timelines, bgmusic, compositing, color corrections and so on.
Thanks to my brother Sef, who thaught me about some techniques in using After Effects and guide videos that aided me in more advance production, I was able to finish the 2-3 minutes short Action-film for around 4 nights (4-5 hours everynight). It was this time that if those movies in Hollywood was actually achievable, why can't we? Sef and I both shared the same vision and obviously it was also this times that our friendship was really tested. *Sheds "MANLY" tears.
